Biodata

Manning, Charlotte Speir (*30. März 1803, †1. April 1871). - Geborene Charlotte Solly. Seit 1857 verheiratet mit dem britischen Juristen James Manning (1781-1866). Sie war Witwe des Arztes William Speir, der im indischen Kolonialdienst tätig war. Auf dem Titelblatt ihres Buches von 1856 Life in ancient India bezeichnet sie sich als „Mrs. Speir“, in der zweiten Auflage von 1869 als „Mrs. Manning“.
