Der Verfasser vollendete sein Werk Prabandhacintāmaṇi im Jahre 1305 in Vardhamāna (Wardhwan, Saurashtra) „less than a decade after the defeat of Karṇa, the last Rājpūt king of Gujarat, and the fall of Aṇahillavāḍa Paṭṭaṇa to the army of the Tughluq sultan 'Alā-u'd-Dīn Khaljī. Merutuṅga treats all the kings of western India from Vanarāja Cāvaḍā through the Vāghelā dynasty“ (John E.
